Day 1: Arrive Cairo
Welcome to Egypt, the gift of the Nile as described by Herodotus. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by Memphis Tours representative who will help you during passport control, luggage area and customs formalities. Then you will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo by a private air-conditioned vehicle for check in and overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Cairo Sightseeing
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to the Giza pyramids of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus. Then proceed to visit the Great Sphinx with a lion's body, dates back to the time of Chephren. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren. After that visit the Egyptian Museum where you can see the great pharaonic treasures including those of Tutankhamun.
Day 3: Monasteries Tour
Breakfast at hotel - enjoy Day Tour to Monasteries at Wadi El Natroun Drive by a modern air-conditioned vehicle to Wadi El-Natroun, the actual birthplace for Christian monasticism. Basically, there were about 50 monasteries; only 4 have survived into modern times. Begin your trip with Deir al-Baramus which is the oldest of the surviving 4 monasteries, and in many ways the most isolated, then proceeds to Deir Anba Bishoi whose body is still in the monastery. Continue your trip to Deir Abu Maqar which is the richest monastery now in Wadi El-Natroun, as it has more than 100 monks and 600 workers in the extensive farm which spreads in front of it. You will end your trip with Deir El-Suryani which is the smallest and most compact of the 4 monasteries - back to hotel and overnight in Cairo.
Day 4: Islamic Cairo Tour
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Mahmoud Khaleel Museum where you see the most marvellous paintings and sculptures of the greatest artists and sculptors in the world, then onto El Azhar, the first Islamic University, after that continue to Al Mouayyed Mosque, Bab Zuweila which was built under the supervision of Badr Al Dein Al Gamal. Cross the road to Al Hussein Mosque, and onto Beit El Sehimy the unique Islamic house. Continue walking to Al Hakam Mosque one of the Fatimide Mosques, then to Bab al Fetouh and Bab Al Nasr which were built under the supervision of Gawhar El Sakaly. Back to hotel and overnight in Cairo.
Day 5: Final Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport to fly back to home.
