Day 1: Arrive Cairo
Welcome to Egypt- the gift of the Nile as described by Herodotus. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by aMemphis Tours representative who will help you through passport control, baggage claim and all customs formalities. You will then be transferred to your hotel by a private air-conditioned vehicle for check-in. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Pyramids of Giza & the Sphinx
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to the pyramids of Giza, home of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus. from there proceed to the Great Sphinx, the head of a pharaoh with a lion's body, dating to the time of Chephren. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Fly To Luxor
Transfer to Cairo International Airport and fly to Luxor. Upon arrival,a Memphis Tours representative will meet and assist you then transfer you to your hotel. Choose between an optional trip to Karnak and Luxor Temples or the Sound & Light Show at Karnak Temple. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 4: Luxor Sightseeing
Begin your early morning with an excursion to Valley of Kings. Here you will see the grandeur of architecture that was used for burial. From Valley of the Kings, move to El Deir El Bahari Temple, built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for approximately 20 years during the 18th Dynasty. Finally, continue to the Colossi of Memnon. Overnight in Luxor.
Day 5: Arrive Aswan
After breakfast, transfer to Luxor airport and fly to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will be met & assisted by a Memphis Tours represntative and transferred to your hotel. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 6: Aswan Sightseeing
After breakfast enjoy a day of sightseeing in Aswan. Start with the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk which is considered the largest piece of stone ever made;this obelisk most likely belongs to Queen Hatshepsut. Continue on to the beautiful Temple of Philae, which is devoted to the goddesses Isis and Hathor. Sail to Elephantine Island via local felucca boat. The island is named Elephantine either because it was a major ivory trading center or because Egyptians first saw the Elephant in this area. Overnight in Aswan.
Day 7: Arrive Cairo
After breakfast transfer to Aswan airport and fly to Cairo. A Memphis Tours representative will be meet and assist you upon arrival take you to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for final departure.
