Day 1: Arrive Egypt
Welcome to Egypt - the gift of the Nile as described by Herodotus. Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, you will be met and assisted by a Memphis Tours representative who will help you through passport control, baggage claim, and all customs formalities. You will then be transferred to your hotel by a private air-conditioned vehicle for check-in. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 2: Pyramids of Giza, Egyptian Museum & Transfer to Aswan
After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to the Pyramids of Giza, home of Cheops, Chefren and Mykerinus. Then proceed to the Great Sphinx, the head of a pharaoh with a lion's body, dating to the time of Chephren. The tour also includes a visit to the Valley Temple which belongs to the Pyramids of Chephren. After that, visit the Egyptian Museum where you can see great pharaonic treasures including those of Tutankhamun. In the evening, transfer to the train station and board the first class sleeping train to Aswan. Overnight on train.
Day 3: Nile Cruise / Aswan
In the morning, a Memphis Tours representative will meet & greet you at the Aswan train station and transfer you to your five star deluxe Nile Cruise for boarding. Lunch & dinner on board.
Day 4: Aswan Sights / Kom Ombo
Enjoy a day of siteseeing in Aswan. Start with the High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk which is considered the largest piece of stone ever made; this obelisk most likely belongs to Queen Hatshepsut. Continue on to the beautiful Temple of Philae, which is devoted to the goddesses Isis and Hathor. Return to the ship for lunch and sail to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival, visit Kom Ombo Temple. Return to the ship for afternoon tea before an oriental dinner. In the evening, dress up and enjoy a Galabaya costume party. Sail to Edfu.
Day 5: Edfu / Luxor
After breakfast, visit Ptolemaic Temple, dedicated to Horus. It was built during the reign of Ptolemy VIII to Ptolemy XII and is considered the best preserved temple in Egypt. Return to the ship for lunch and sail to Esna. Dinner on board with an evening Disco party. Sail to Luxor.
Day 6: Luxor Sightseeing / Train to Cairo
Enjoy an early morning excursion to Valley of the Kings and see the grandeur of architecture that was used for burial. From Valley of the Kings, move to El Deir Bahari Temple, built by Queen Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmosis I, who ruled Egypt for approximately 20 years during the 18th Dynasty. Finally, visit the Colossi of Memnon before departing your cruise. In the evening, you will be transferred to Luxor train station where you will board the sleeper train back to Cairo. Dinner & breakfast on board train.
Day 7: Free Day in Cairo
A Memphis Tours representative will meet you upon arrival at Giza station and transfer you to your hotel. Enjoy a free day in the city. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo International Airport for final departure.
